Eva M. “Dolly” Schultz, age 77 of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault with Fr. Kevin Kenney, officiating. Interment will be held at the Frontenac Cemetery in Frontenac, MN.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. There will be no reviewal at the church.
Eva Marie, the daughter of William and Marian (Juaire) Peters, was born on March 5, 1941 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School. Dolly and Rudy met at the Olympia Restaurant in February of 1957 where Dolly was a waitress. On June 29, 1957 she was united in marriage to Rudolph “Rudy” Schultz at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. After their marriage Dolly cared for her family as well as working outside of their home. Dolly cooked at many restaurants in Faribault. Later Rudy and Dolly would purchase the Holiday Café in downtown Faribault and owned and operated the café for several years. She enjoyed family get-togethers, cooking, playing bingo and reading. She was an avid fan of the Vikings and Twins. Dolly was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Rudolph “Rudy” Schultz; by six children, Bill (Carol) Schultz, Jodi Golombeski and friend Mark Compton, Kelly (Mike) Hughes, Eric (Jennifer) Schultz, Heidi (Lane) Weatherson, Aaron Schultz and friend Tanya Tupa; by 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; by her siblings, Margaret Meich, Marlene Peters, Barb Juaire, Diane (Tim) Evans, Sue (Roy) Phillips, Theresa (Don) Green, Kim Kanzenbach and Willie (Lisa) Peters and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Ryan Schultz and infant daughter Kim Schultz, son-in-laws, John Golombeski and Mike Schulz, mother-in-law, Ocie Hoaglund and fathers-in-law, Herman Schultz and Joseph Hoaglund.
