Eugene Schultz

Eugene Otto Schultz, age 80, of Buffalo, MN, and formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eugene Otto, the son of Otto and Lila (Race) Schultz was born on March 28, 1939 in Staples, MN.  Gene worked at McQuays, was a brick layer with Brown Masonry, and worked with his brothers, Jack and Butch as a carpenter with Borson Construction.  He was married to Esther Kath on December 13, 1964, they raised their boys and were later divorced.  Gene took pride working with his family.  For many years he worked with his sons roofing, retiring from Royal Roofing.  Gene was always willing to help his boys and others with any project they needed help with.  He enjoyed painting as a hobby and playing cards.  Gene loved to tell jokes and entertain people, often asking anyone if they had time for a joke, which often led to a few more!

He is survived by his former wife, Esther Johnson of Hanover, MN; his boys, Troy Schultz of Walker, MN, and his son Trent; Todd (Heidi) Schultz of Big Lake, MN, and their daughter, Alicia (Ben) Biorn and their children, Noah and Jaxon; Tom (Michelle) Schultz of Monticello, MN, and their children, Danielle, Jenna, and Dyllan; Travis Schultz (Amy) of Elk River, MN, and his children, Tomara, Tristan, Cameran, Judah, and Justin; and Timm (Crystal) Johnson of Forest Lake, MN, the son of Eugene Johnson and Esther, Gene loved Timm like his own son, and Timm’s children, Brianna and Logan; siblings, John (Virginia) Schultz, Ronald (Diane) Schultz, Lyla Cole, and Larry Schultz; sister-in-law, Donna Schultz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lila; and siblings, Arthur Schultz, Lyle Schultz in infancy, a sister in infancy, Marlene Schindeldecker, Patsy Messig, and Raymond Schultz.
