Eugene R. Linde, age 73 of Mankato, was born into eternal life on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato after a long battle with Adrenoleukodystrophy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with Fr. Robert Schneider, Celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Eugene Robert was born on September 5, 1938 in Mankato, Minnesota to Rudy and Clara (DeVlaeminick) Linde. Eugene was a graduate of Janesville High School. He was united in marriage to Patricia Lang on February 15, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair. For the first 10 years of his career Eugene worked for Minnesota Natural Gas Company. He then farmed for many years on the family farm in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County. Due to health reasons Eugene was forced to retire early from farming. Eugene was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and puzzles. Eugene especially loved his time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Mankato; by his sons Larry (Tammy) Linde of Sanford, FL, Dan (Laura) Linde of Mankato, Curtis (Janet) Linde of Good Thunder, and Jesse (Elizabeth) Linde of Virginia; by his mother Clara Linde at the Janesville Nursing Home; by his grandchildren, Dale (Jessica) Marx, Rick (Jessica) Linde, Mike (Amy) Linde, Brian Linde and friend Alicia, Adrian Dimmick Linde, Nikki (Chris) Federico, Michelle Belcher, and Felicia Casey; by his great grandchildren Khloe, Mason, Ryan, Ellie, Alex, Makayla, Nathan, Alex, Alexis, and Anthony; by his four sisters, Bev (Jerry) Froehlich of Janesville, Delores (Stanley) Wilmes of Mankato, Barb Fischer of Minnesota Lake, and Karen Linde of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his father Rudy; by his brother-in-law Carl Fischer and nephew Jason Froehlich
