Ernest B. Moreau, age 97, a lifelong resident of Faribault and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, died 9 Mar 19112 after years of pain and suffering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 13 March at 11:00 a.m. at the New Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault with Father Erik Lundgren, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred in memory of Ernest. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Undertaking & Crematory of Faribault. Ernest worked at various jobs in Faribault during the Great Depression and Prohibition. He worked defense jobs during WWII. He was a member of the Army National Guard in Faribault and was later granted an honorable discharge. He was hired by the Faribault Fire Departments and retired in August '64. Ernest was awarded a certificate by the Faribault City Council for saving a child's life from a burning building. Ernie loved to garden, card playing and was also a great nature lover. He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Jane) Moreau of Faribault; his grandson, Zackery Moreau of Faribault; a number of nephews and nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mary Agnes Hunt.
