Erna Doocy

Erna A. Doocy, age 91 of Owatonna, died on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Owatonna Hospital.             Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, November 27th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville with Fr. Peter Klein, Celebrant.              The Doocy Family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the hour of service, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville.             Erna Ann was born in rural Kossuth County, Iowa to Fred and Olga (Simonsmeier) Schwartz on April 28, 1920. She graduated from Ledyard High School in Ledyard, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Arthur Doocy on January 20, 1943 at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft, Iowa.             Erna is survived by her two daughters, Marlene (Stan) Dimmel of Janesville and Linda (Jeff) Pruestel of Owatonna; by her four grandchildren, Derek (Samantha) Dimmel of Owatonna, Dustin Dimmel of Janesville, Kyle Keck and special friend Nicole, and Jessica Smith, all of Owatonna; by ten great grandchildren; by three sisters, Lillian Smith of Armstrong, IA, Evelyn (Don) Johnson and Betty (Jim) Smith, all of Swea City, IA, and her one brother Fred (Rose) Schwartz of Morganton, GA; by many nieces and nephews.             She was preceded in death by her husband, and her son Duane; by her parents and three brothers, Ervin, Harold and Edwin Schwartz, and her sister Florence Clayton.
