Elva L. Jewison, age 62 of Waseca, died on Monday, September 27, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family. Memorials services will be held Friday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca. The Jewison Family will greet friends on Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home. Elva Louise was born on August 7, 1948 in Rochester, Minnesota to Henry and Elva (Baker) Bryan. Elva graduated from Pine Island High School in 1966. She lived in Rochester before moving to Janesville in 1980. On June 8, 1990 Elva was united in marriage to Dale Robert Jewison. Following her husband's death in 1995, Elva moved to Waseca. Elva was employed with Minnesota Valley Action Council for 6 years before beginning her long career with Waseca County Human Services. In June of this year Elva retired from her position as Financial Assistance Supervisor of Human Services for Waseca County after 26 years of service. She was a member of the Waseca American Legion Auxiliary #228, and the V.F.W. Sweet-Sommers Auxiliary #1642 in Waseca. Elva enjoyed dancing, gardening, and watching eagles. She loved time spent with her friends. She is survived by her children Michell Hysell (special friend Dan Gould) of Mankato, Robert Hisel of Chatfield, and Brenda (Bruce) Morris of Waseca; by her grandchildren Bryan and BreAnna Morris, and Hailey Giese; by her sister Marcia (Donald) Groth of Chatfield, and her nephew John (fiancé Cheri) Groth of Byron; by Elizabeth Cram, Elva's longtime best friend! She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, and by her parents. Honorary bearers are Lucy Farley and Joann Storlie.
