Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Meder, age 75, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, following an extended illness.
Elizabeth Ann, the daughter of Vernon “Woody” Meder and Rosella (Hartman) Meder, was born on November 21, 1949. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic Grade School and graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in 1968. Elizabeth received her Associate of Art Degree in 1990, and Bachelor of Art Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 1991 from Mankato State University. She was a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Libby liked to read and was always in search of priceless junk. A so called “Junker”. Libby was an admitted Genealogy Addict and spent several years researching her family history, during which she met several distant cousins and maintained a close connection.
She is survived by her long-time love and partner, Tom Buendorf; daughter Leanne (Brian) Tukua; two granddaughters, Ashley (Chris) Hotzler and Abbey Tukua; two great grandchildren; nieces, Diana Reese and Lisa Ernste and their families; and several family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon “Woody” and Rosella; and her brother, Michael “Woody” Meder.
Private family services will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. At Libby’s request, no additional services will be held.
Memorials may be directed to the Furball Sanctuary for Cats, Rice County Humane Society, or an animal rescue group near you in memory of Libby.
