Elia R. Carrejo, age 59, of Faribault, passed away on December 3, 2009 at the Faribault Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the church. The rosary will be recited on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Elia Rosa Castillo, the daughter of Bardomiano and Elena (Moreno) Castillo, was born on August 4, 1950 in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Harlandale High School in Texas. Elia worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home and St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. She also worked at Ryt-way Packaging in Northfield. She has been married to Oscar Carrejo for 28 years and they just recently renewed their vows on December 1, 2009. Elia enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, embroidery, and baking. She is survived by her husband, Oscar of Faribault; three children, Erica (Victor) Briseno of Faribault, Stephanie Rodriguez of Illinois, and Robert Rodriguez of Kasota, MN; two step-children, Christina (Emilio) Yanez of Fort Hood, TX, and Nichole (Genaro) Garcia of Faribault; 9 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; seven siblings, Connie, Augie, Angie, Lupe, Alice, Oscar, and Jaime; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 siblings, Pedro, Anita, and Juan.
