Elfriede A. Perron, age 95, of Faribault, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart, with the Rev. Fernando Oretga officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to services at the church. Elfriede Anna Witzke, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Klopsteg) Witzke, was born on January 5, 1913 in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1931. After high school Elfriede attended normal school to become a teacher. Elfriede taught at the country schools in Cannon City and Morristown from 1932-34. She was united in marriage to Marvin X. Perron on November 16, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1998. They moved to Minneapolis in 1943 and Elfriede worked as a bookkeeper for Metal-Matic in Minneapolis from 1963-1975. For several years Elfriede and Marvin were foster parents for many children. Elfriede enjoyed being a home maker and was an excellent baker. She was very talented at decorating cakes. She is survived by her son, David (Rebekah) Perron of Kansas City, MO; by her daughter, Kathleen Headline of Faribault; by five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; by her sister, Ruth Lockerby of Faribault and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Gilbert Witzke; her sister, Lenora Erie and son-in-law, Leonard Headline.
