Eldo Brandenburg

Eldo H. Brandenburg, age 94, of Pemberton passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freedom Township with Pastor Larry Sipe officiating. Interment will be held at Freedom Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville.

Eldo Herman, son of Emil and Ida (Boettcher) Brandenburg, was born on June 25, 1921 at home in Freedom Township. He attended school in Waldorf before becoming a lifelong farmer. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Randall on July 23, 1944 in Waseca. Eldo was on the Freedom Township Board for over 45 years. He was also a volunteer at Thrivent. He was very involved in Immanuel Lutheran Church and was the church treasurer for over 30 years. Eldo loved life and being around others. He could start a conversation with anyone he met. He loved baseball, planting flowers and trees, and really enjoyed dancing, especially to polka.

Eldo is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Myrtle Brandenburg; children, Gary (Leslie) Brandenburg of Lauderdale, MN, Ralph (Mavis) Brandenburg of Pemberton, and Marlene (Rick) Johnson of Waseca; grandchildren, Laurie (Dan) Brandenburg of Easton, MN, Lisa Brandenburg of North Mankato, Michaela Gehring of Eagan, and Briana Gehring of Apple Valley; great grandchildren, Gavin, Garret, Jacob, Connor, Lucas, Makenna, Kadence, and Ethan; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ida; and siblings, Ella and Alfred.
