Elaine Hasenbush Trevis, age 91 of Faribault, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorials be directed to the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna in memory of Elaine.
Elaine Susan, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Racheleo) Thom, was born on July 20, 1925 in Big River, Wisconsin. On June 14, 1945 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Warren Hasenbush in Red Wing, MN. Although money was not always plentiful in the early years of their marriage they always made sure their four daughters were raised in a home with an abundance of love. Warren preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1975. Later Elaine was married to Ed Trevis on Jan. 31, 1987 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Ed preceded her in death on June 6, 2014. Elaine was a home maker all of her life and also worked outside of the home at different businesses in Faribault including, Modern Bar, The Leader, Och's Department Store, License Bureau and the Art Gallery at the Lavender Inn. Elaine was a past president of the Daughters of Isabella and she also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, playing cards, especially euchre and cribbage, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Arlene "Iny" (Dennis) Schmidtke of Morristown, MN, Maureen "Marti" Stohr, Mary (Chuck) Wilde and Jackie (Randy) Grems, all of Faribault; by 7 grandchildren, Scott (Maggie) Underdahl, Rick (Gretchen) Underdahl, Tom (Crystal) Underdahl, Jason (Jennifer) Burmeister, Jodee (Shane) Kraft, Ally (John) Beckius and Josh Grems; by 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren. Survived by Ed's children, Linnea (Bill) Johnson, Gretchen (Tom) Nordstrom and Cindy Trevis; by her sisters, Jan Folstad of Red Wing, MN and Shirley (Rod) Martinsen of St. Louis Park, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, granddaughter, Brianna Grems, sister, Sally Halterman, two brothers, Roman and Donald Thom, stepfather, Albert Reis and stepson, Mark Trevis.
