Elaine Paukert Lynch, age 89, of Miami, FL and Faribault, MN, passed away November 22, 2015 in Miami.
All friends are welcome to the Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Elaine's life on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, followed by a lunch. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault Senior Center, Paradise Center for the Arts, River Bend Nature Center, Minnesota State Fair Foundation, or the donor's choice in memory of Elaine.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Elaine Paukert was born on May 26, 1926, in Faribault to Julius and Elizabeth (Moes) Paukert. She attended St. Lawrence School and graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1943. She then moved to San Diego and worked at the Naval Station during WWII. Elaine lived many places including, New Orleans, New York, Paris, France, and Washington D.C. Elaine had lived in Miami since 1989. She loved painting and drawing, and won several ribbons at the Rice County Fair. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and socializing at the Faribault Senior Center, spending her summers in Faribault, and attending the Minnesota State Fair. While living in Miami she loved to attend the opera, ballet, and theater, along with many sporting events, including the Miami Heat basketball, Florida Panthers hockey, and University of Miami men's and women's basketball games. In 2011, Elaine suffered a stroke, but still kept busy with her activities.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Diane deLaet; nephews, Dennis (Mary Jo) Paukert, James Paukert, and Bruce O'Connor; nieces, Roberta Stanton, Mary O'Connor, and Kathleen (Greg) Vestecka; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Elizabeth; brother, Bernard Paukert; and sister, Dorothy O'Connor.
