Dorothy Thompson

Dorothy M. Thompson, age 98, of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister, officiating.  Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Monday for one hour prior to services.

Dorothy Marie, the daughter of Daniel and Marie (Beyer) Timm was born on November 1, 1921 in Stillwater, MN.  She attended Washington High School in St. Paul, MN and graduated with the class of 1939.  On October 11, 1958 she was united in marriage to Arthur Thompson at Transfiguration Catholic Church in St. Paul.  Mr. Thompson preceded her in death on January 25, 1990.  After their marriage they moved to Faribault and Dorothy worked for many years at Mahler’s Hardware in Faribault, retiring in 1982.  She also worked for a short time at Tempo.  In retirement she volunteered with the Faribault Area Hospice.  She was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagle’s Auxiliary.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Manor for the love and care that was given to Dorothy during her years with them.

She is survived by her friend Jeannie Beaupre of Faribault and her friends at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
