Dorothy Mae "Dot" Steimann, age 94, of Roseville, MN, and formerly of Faribault, MN, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Langton Place Senior Living in Roseville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the church.

Dorothy Mae ("Dot") Beetz Glancy Steimann, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Morgan) Beetz, born in Newport, Kentucky on March 22, 1919. Grew up in northern Kentucky across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati working part-time in her father's bakery, and then as a secretary. Preceded in death by first husband John Glancy on July 22, 1940. During World War II, served from February 1943 to August 1945 in the U.S. Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, later called the Women's Army Corps, traveling to the Southwest Pacific with the Signal Corps. On February 18, 1950, Dot married Urban J. ("Urb") Steimann and moved to Faribault, Minnesota, supporting Urban as tax accountant in his law firm, and as wife and mother to their six children. Urban passed away on April 30, 1986. A prolific writer of poetry and prose (some published), did publicity for organizations, talked to groups and school classes about time in service, FDR and World War II. Was a very active member in numerous organizations including acting as a past President for the Faribault Lions Club.
Survived by two sons, Dick and Fritz, and four daughters, Mary Gelhaus, Val Frederick, Judy St. Michel and Barbara Lennon, 19 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one nephew, George G. White, Jr. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Urban; her parents; two grandchildren, Jason Frederick and Cory Steimann; a daughter-in-law Karen Quale Steimann; her four sisters, Clara May Beetz, Frances White, Helen ("Nellie") Beetz and Margaret Walter; and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Walter and George White, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Women in Military Service Memorial, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, VA 22211, or the World War II Memorial, 17th Street SW, Washington, DC 20006, to Divine Mercy Catholic Schools, 15 Third Ave. SW, Faribault, MN 55021 or Bethlehem Academy, 105 Third Ave. SW, Faribault, MN 55021, or to the donor's chosen charity.
