Dorothy Pearson

Dorothy J. Pearson, age 86 of New Hope, died on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Lake Shore Inn, Waseca.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27th at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Crystal with Rev. David Folkerts officiating.  Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.   Visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at First Lutheran Church in Crystal.  McRaith Funeral Home of Waseca is handling arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's research.   Dorothy Jean was born on September 7, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Rollo and Lillian (Rose) Boyer.  She graduated from Columbia Heights High School.  On September 25, 1946 Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Lee Pearson in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.  Dorothy dedicated her life to God, her family, and her church.  She was a longtime, dedicated member of First Lutheran Church in Crystal where she was involved in the church choir, bible study, and teaching Sunday school.  Dorothy also enjoyed golf league, bowling and volunteering her time in the New Hope community with Meals On Wheels.    She is survived by her children Nancy (Gary) Smith of Dayton, MN, Mark (Patricia) Pearson of Waseca, MN, Sandra Pearson (Fred Whaley) of Stevenson Ranch, CA, and Ann (Dan) Vacca of Germantown, MD; by her grandchildren Dawn Krueger, Elizabeth Pearson, Michelle Kalish, Kristin Chisholm, Steven Kokkila and Jennifer Muller; by her great grandchildren Amanda and Natalie Krueger, Dustyn, Bradee, and Jessica Kalish.    She was preceded in death by her husband on May 2, 1982; by her sister Phyllis and brother Jack.
