Dorothy Morris

Dorothy C. Morris, age 89, of Faribault, MN, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at Faribault Senior Living.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Dorothy Clare was born on May 29, 1928 in Faribault to Leo and Margaret (Linister) Friesen. She was married to George J. Morris on June 16, 1947 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Dorothy worked as a sales associate for Ochs Department Store for many years. She also worked as a cook for Faribault Public Schools and Nelson's Grocery Store. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her many friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very loving, giving woman. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, and playing cards.

Dorothy will forever be loved and missed by her children, Jean Morris (Mike Kalien), Deb Morris, and Dennis and Marilyn Morris (Shevlin) of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Robert Paukert, Travis DeGroot (Rebecca Mottl), Joshua and Kelly DeGroot, Damien Morris, Justin Morris, and Joe Morris all of Wasilla, Alaska, and Sarah Kalien of Sarasota, FL; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; siblings, Betty and John Redding of Minneapolis, Delores and Ted McCarthy of Minneapolis, and Leo and Arlene Friesen of Bloomington; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Morris; daughter, Linda (Morris) Dugdale; parents, Leo and Margaret Friesen; and in-laws, George A. and Celania Morris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the donor's choice in memory of Dorothy.
