Dorothy A. Kos, age 94, of Faribault, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the District One Hospital in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little Prairie United Methodist Church in Dundas, MN, with Rev. Gordon Deuel, officiating. Interment will be at the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Little Prairie United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Dorothy Alice Prusha, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Powell) Prusha, was born on September 22, 1914 in Davenport, Iowa. She was married to Frank Kos on September 19, 1932 in Owatonna, MN. Dorothy and Frank farmed for many years in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. They also owned and operated Roy's Hamburger Home in Owatonna for 14 years. Upon retiring in 1972, they moved to Kelly Lake in rural Rice County. Frank preceded her in death on October 29, 1991. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, reading books, baking sweet breads, and sharing her baked goods and books with others. She was a devoted member of Little Prairie United Methodist Church for 40 years and was an active member at the Faribault Senior Center. She is survived by seven children, Daryl (Donna) Kos of New Cambria, MO, Gale (Shirlee) Kos of Claremont, MN, Gladys (Gordon) Rassman of Owatonna, MN, Gary (Judith) Kos of Rochester, MN, Judy (Bob) Derrickson of Kieler, WI, Betty (William) Hoover of Dundas, MN, and Patty Olson (special friend, Harry Chappuis) of Faribault, MN; 22 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two children, Delano and Alice Marie; sister, Bonnie Vavra; brother, Dale Prusha; and son-in-law, Duane Olson.
