Donovan D. Daws, age 96, of Faribault, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at his residence at Keystone Communities of Faribault. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peace United Methodist Church in Morristown, with the Rev. Elden Eklund, officiating. Interment will be held at the Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Donovan Delbert Daws, the son of Edwin and Mae (Reed) Daws, was born on January 31, 1916 in Warsaw Township, Rice County, Minnesota. Donovan attended Faribault High School and in 1935 began his lifelong career in farming on his family's farm near Cannon Lake. He was married to June Thielbar and together they had one child. She later preceded him in death in 1965. In 1979, Donovan moved to Renton, WA, where he married Ruth (Quiggle) Thielbar. They later returned to Faribault in 1992 and lived back on the family farm. Donovan enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Lowell (Gail) Daws of Edmond, OK; his grandchildren, Craig Daws of Warsaw, Dana (Nathan) Engh of Eden Praire, Ryan (Misty) Daws of Warsaw and Nicole (Matthew) Yochum of Faribault; his great grandchildren, Cody Daws, Nicholas Engh, Jessica Marquardt, Taylor Yochum, Tanner Yochum, Tatum Yochum, Nick Engh, Leah Engh and Lora Engh and by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives June Thielbar Daws and Ruth Quiggle Thielbar Daws; his sisters, Marjorie Groch and Natelie Daws Michard and by his three brothers, Lynn Daws, Archie Daws and Harlan "Ted" Daws.
