Donna Sawatzky

Donna D. Sawatzky, age 74, of Medford, MN, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Regency Hospital in Golden Valley, MN, following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., in Faribault with Pastor Leif Crooks officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Donna Denage, the daughter of Donald and Frieda (Zander) Lord, was born on March 5, 1944 in Faribault.  She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1962.  On September 4, 1965 she was united in marriage to Charles Sawatzky at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault.  They had three children, Risa, Darren and Gina and were later divorced.  Donna worked as a home health aide at Mary Nauman Senior Care and retired in 2006.  She previously worked for Cenneidigh Homes.  Donna loved being with her kids, grandchildren and family.  She enjoyed listening to music and traveling to Prescott, WI to visit her sister Renee.

She is survived by her children, Darren Sawatzky of Faribault, MN and Gina Sawatzky and fiancé Justin Teske of Faribault, MN; by 5 grandchildren, Hunter, Madelyn, Gavin, Abby and Isaac; by her siblings, Robert (Annette) Lord of Buffalo, MN, Renee Gumbusky of Prescott, WI and Michael (Marlene) Lord of Maryland; by her son-in-law, Jody Grund of Faribault, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Risa Grund, by a son in infancy, by her former spouse Charles Sawatzky, by her parents, by her sister, Janet Warmington and by her brother-in-law, James Gumbusky.
