Donna Mae Van Ryn, age 73 of Faribault, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, surrounded by her family, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault with Fr. Kevin Kenney, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.
Donna Mae, the daughter of John and Lillian (Dvorak) Kes, was born on March 3, 1943 in Northfield, MN. She attended Northfield High School and graduated with the class of 1962. On September 24, 1966 she was united in marriage to Gerald Van Ryn. Donna worked for over 35 years as the Head Bartender at the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Club. She also had worked at Northfield Liquor, Al's Place and Nelson's Super Valu. Donna's love was being with her family and especially her six grandchildren. She loved watching them at their sporting events. Donna also enjoyed watching the Vikings and Twins and her annual trips to Las Vegas. She was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles Club, American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Van Ryn of Faribault, MN; by three children, Dawn (James) Berquam of Kenyon, MN, Jodie (Mike) McKeag of Cannon Falls, MN and Tim (Teresa) Van Ryn of Waterville, MN; by six grandchildren, Kailee and Emma Berquam, Ellie McKeag, Trevor Grems, Tori and Tanna Van Ryn; by a special friend, Dale Grems (Dayna), by her brother and sister-in-laws, Kay Kes, Myron DeGroot, Bill and Mary Van Ryn, Bob and Kathy Jeanes, Rick and Angel Jeanes, Mary Rasmussen, Nancy and Russell Bartz, Troy and Christine Jeanes, Kim Jeanes, Marcia and Dan Stublaski and Shelley Jeanes and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jerry Kes, sisters, Leola DeGroot and Caroline Perry and brother-in-laws, John Jeanes and George Van Ryn.
