Donna M. Dumdei, age 86 of Waseca, died on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca, with Father Gregory Leif, officiating. Interment will be held at the Smiths Mill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.
Donna Marie, the daughter of Matthew and Kathryn (Mans) Michels, was born on February 23, 1927 in Mankato. She attended school in Mankato and later graduated Mankato High School. Following high school, Donna worked at Green Giant in LeSueur for a brief time and later transferred to be a telephone operator for a firm in Minneapolis. On February 10, 1948, Donna was united in marriage to Marvin Dumdei in Nicollet. After their marriage, they lived in various places throughout the Northern Suburbs of Minneapolis and have resided in Waseca for the last twenty one years.
Donna loved to bake, often times giving her delicious banana bread or apple strudels to her family or friends. She particularly loved early rhubarb so she could make delicious muffins, sauce, and cakes. Donna was extra fond of the time she spent with all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Marvin of Waseca; her two children, Mark (Stacey) Dumdei of Switzerland, FL and Susan (Bud) Amsler of Brooklyn Center, MN; her grandchildren, Jason (Cree) Bradley of Two Harbors, MN, Heather (Dustin) Craig of Monticello, MN, Dan (Molly) Bradley of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer Bradley of Minneapolis, MN, Ashton, Taylor and Jonathan Dumdei, all of Switzerland, FL; her two great grandchildren, Brynn and Dylan Craig; her siblings, Lloyd (Donna) Michels of Cleveland, Nadine (Tom) Hanson of St. Louis Park and Bernita Seitzer of St. Peter and by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Gordon (Sally) Michels, Richard (Delores) Michels and Kareen (Tom) Person.
