Donna David

Donna M. David, age 88 of Faribault, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, surrounded by her family, at the Owatonna Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Mark Johnson, officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services. The Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagle's Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.

Donna Mae, the daughter of Peter and Jorgina (Remold) Lee, was born on December 31, 1928 at the family farm in Moland Township, Steele County, MN. She attended District 41 Country School in Steele County and graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1947. On November 14, 1950 she was united in marriage to Elmer David at the Parsonage at GOL Lutheran Church in Kenyon, MN. Right out of high school Donna worked as a bookkeeper for I.H.C. in Owatonna and she forgoed that to work side by side with Elmer on their farm. Together they worked all jobs that needed to be accomplished on a daily basis to keep their farm running smoothly. She had a heart of gold for the animals on the farm and loved them dearly. She also enjoyed babysitting the dogs for her family when they would be gone. Donna was a kind and unselfish person who always thought of others first and always found the positive in any situation. She always would help people in times of need. Donna enjoyed music and would always accompany Elmer when he was playing with the band at different venues. They enjoyed going on bus trips and traveled to many parts of the country but especially enjoyed their bus trip to Alaska. Donna was conservative, but liked to go to the casino and play black jack. She was an awesome cook and everyone loved her potato salad and butterscotch dessert. She was a long time member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Elmer David of Faribault; by two children, Rick (Laurie) David of Faribault, MN and Mary (Jeff) David-Parker of Medford, MN; by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister in infancy, by 2 brothers, Russell and Parnell Lee and by her sister, Irene Radtke.
