Donald O. Peters, age 84, of Larrabee, Iowa, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon, Minnesota.    Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sutherland United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Iowa with the Rev. Judd Stover, officiating. Interment will be held at the Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa.    Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services on Monday.    Memorials are preferred to the Washta Cemetery Association or a hospice provider of donor's choice.    Donald Otto Peters, the son of William and Catharina (Fedderson) Peters was born on January 1, 1923 in Sutherland, Iowa.   He was united in marriage to Lois Burns on June 15, 1948 in Cherokee, Iowa. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2002. Don was a farmer in the Larrabee, Iowa area for over forty years. He enjoyed fishing and boating, watching Walker Texas Ranger, playing cards with his buddies, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild and especially enjoyed taking care of his granddog Spippy. Throughout his life, Don was known as a man with a good sense of humor and enjoyed being social, leading him to create many friendships over the years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family whenever they needed something fixed.     He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Paul) Smith of Kenyon; daughter-in-law, Becky Peters of Platteville, WI; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Justin) Duris and their child Jackson of Madison, WI and Christopher Peters of Platteville, WI; sister-in-law, Shirley Burns of Prescott, AZ; and by other relatives and friends.    He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; sons, Gary in 1992 and Lloyd in May of 2010; nephew, Billy Peters; sisters, Anna McGreevey and Catherine Peters; brother, Arnold Peters; sister-in-law, Dorothy Peters; and brother-in-law, Robert Burns.
