Donald L. DeMars

Donald L. DeMars, age 79 of Faribault, MN died Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Allina Health Faribault Medical Center.

Donald Lawrence, the son of Lawrence and Ruby (Sweet) DeMars was born on March 12, 1944 in Faribault.  He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1961.  Following high school Don served in the U.S. Navy.  On November 24, 1966 he was united in marriage to Katherine Fiebiger.  Don worked for many years at McQuay’s.  He was an active member of the VFW Post 1562 in Faribault for many years and served as Commander for a term.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault and served as a member of the Honor Guard for many years.  Don was a very caring person who put others before himself always.  He enjoyed playing pool and visiting with others.

He is survived by his wife Kathy DeMars of Faribault, MN; by his son, Jay (Tammy) DeMars of Sartell, MN; by his grandson, Brandon Lindenfelser and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joan Warmington.

Family services will be held at a later date with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
