Donald E. Chester

Donald E. Chester, age 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home.

Donald Everett, the son of Everett and Mildred (Schultz) Chester was born on January 4, 1938 in Northfield, MN.  He attended Northfield High School and graduated with the class of 1956.  On  September 24, 1960 he was united in marriage to Judith Ann Durand at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault.  Don worked as a truck driver for Rice County Dairy and then began a 40 year career with Sheldahl in Northfield, retiring as a Supervisor.  Don enjoyed spending time with his family along with hunting, trapping, fishing, trap shooting, bowling, reading and playing cards.  He was a member of Gideons, Minnesota Waterfowl Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Minnesota Trappers Association.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Chester of Faribault; by his children, Deb (Jim) Lieske of Owatonna, MN, Kat (Todd) Dahl of Brooklyn Park, MN and Greg (Stacy) Chester of Quinlan, TX; by nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; by his siblings, Virginia Cromer of Waseca, MN, Ruth Godfrey of Dennison, MN and Everett (Tim) Chester of Northfield, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brothers, James and Theodore Chester and by his sister, Jean Olson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.  Interment will be held at the Cannon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Friday morning from 11 :00 to 11:30 a.m.
