Donald F. "Don" Buendorf

Donald F. Buendorf, age 81 of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis following an extended illness.

Donald Fredrick, the son of Walter and Pauline (Dutcher) Buendorf was born on March 16, 1942 in Faribault.  He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1960.  After high school Don served in the U.S. Army.  On July 1, 1968 he was united in marriage to Kathy Walsh in Brookings, SD.  Following their marriage Don attended Mankato State University and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technical Studies.  Don was self employed and worked all over the United States and Canada installing seating in stadiums, auditoriums and theaters.  He enjoyed boat building, woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, biking, walking in local parks, chopping wood and being outdoors enjoying nature.  He was a past president of the Austin Sertoma Club and was a member of the Carpenters & Joiners Union in Rochester, MN.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Buendorf of Faribault; by daughters, Michelle Burke of Burnsville, MN and Sherry & Tom Healy of Prior Lake, MN; by grandchildren, Robert & Samantha Healy of Northfield, MN, Emily & Jake Bure of Shorewood, MN and Tommy Healy of Prior Lake, MN; by great granddaughter, Lucy Bure; by his brother, Tom Buendorf of Faribault and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Muriel Jensen, Ted Buendorf and Dennis Buendorf.

Private graveside services will be held for the family at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
