Dolores M. Sears, age 84, of Faribault, died peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a sudden illness.    Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.   Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault and on Thursday morning for one hour prior to services at the church.    Dolores Marie Fischer, the daughter of John & Lydia (Kelm) Fischer, was born on July 18, 1927 in Broadview, Montana. She attended the Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1945. On July 5, 1946, Dolores was united in marriage to Gerald Sears at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Dolores worked for the Faribault Daily News for over 30 years prior to retiring. After her retirement 1987, Dolores and Gerald moved to Pharr, Texas and would return to Faribault during the summer months. Gerald later preceded her in death on November 6, 2002. Dolores was a very active volunteer in her RV Park, The Tip-O-Texas and was most recently crowned the Queen. At the age of 78 she started golfing and even had the rare opportunity of getting a hole in one. In 2011, Dolores decided to move back to Minnesota due to failing health and to be closer to her family.    She is survived by her four children, Sandy (Bob) Sokolik of Savage, Patty Kaprall of Eden Prairie, Linda (Joe) Kaderlik and Nancy Freeborn, both of Faribault; her six grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Barnholdt, Debbie Johnson, Mandy (Matt) Summers, Eddie Kaprall, Jerry (fiancé Kathy Davidson) Kaderlik and Chad (Suzy) Kaderlik; her eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; her sister, Elaine (Wally) Krenz of Faribault; her special friend, Willard Hertlein and by other relatives and friends.      She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, a brother Clifford (Bud) Fischer, son-in-law Gary Freeborn and by her sister-in-law Maxine Gullickson.
