Dode Taylor, age 91, of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Regina Hospital in Hastings, MN
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault.
Eloda Ann (Dode), daughter of Herbert and Bernice (Olson) Glor, was born on May 9, 1925 in Faribault. She married Thomas Taylor on August 10, 1945, at Cope Field Chapel in Fayetteville, NC. After short stays in Blytheville, AR, and Burlington, VT, they moved to Minneapolis, MN. In 1958, they returned to Faribault. Dode was active in Girl Scouts, PTA, Sweet Adelines, the Red Cross Bloodmobile, and Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Dode resided for years at Cardinal Pointe, where she enjoyed many activities and friends.
She is survived by one son, Stephen (Kathy) Taylor; three daughters, Ann (Charlie) Jones, Sue (Chuck) Allen, and Jamie (Randy) Malone; four grandchildren, Peter (Gina) Jones, Kelly (Brian) Larson, Robert (Tia) Crane, and Katie Allen; six great grandchildren, Carwyn and Graham Jones, Sarah and Matthew Larson, and Harrison and Juniper Crane; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents, Herbert and Bernice; and grandson, Tommy Allen.
Memorials may be directed to the Tommy Allen Youth Scholarship Fund c/o Faribault Community Services, or Divine Mercy Catholic Church in memory of Dode.
