Diane Nelson

Diane F. Nelson, age 71 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the New Richland Care Center.   A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, September 10th from 3 to 5 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca. Private family services will follow.   Diane Fern was born on January 22, 1939 in Waseca, Minnesota to Leroy W. and Francis (Dahnert) Madigan Sr. She graduated from Waseca Senior High School in 1957. After graduation Diane moved to California for a short time, and later returned to Minnesota where she owned and operated multiple small businesses in the area. She enjoyed playing golf and crocheting and was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Diane was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.   She is survived by her four sons; Jay (Jolene) Nelson of Waseca, Jef (Michelle) Nelson of Dallas TX, Jerit (Stephanie) Nelson and Joseph Nelson and fiancee Kristi Kroeger all of Waseca; by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; by her brother Frank "Terry" (Pamela) Madigan of Seattle, WA; by her sisters, Carol (Monte) Loney of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Joanne (David) Egeness of Waseca; by her sister-in-law Shirley Madigan of Janesville and by her brother-in-law Terry Johnson of New Ulm; by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon Johnson and her brother Leroy "Bill" Madigan Jr.
