Delores Stevermer

Delores Marie (Duffney) Stevermer, age 84 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN following a short battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date with interment at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Delores Marie, the daughter of Omer and Alice (Bauer) Duffney, was born on May 22, 1933 in Faribault, MN. She met her husband Glenn Stevermer while she was the hostess at Mealey's Restaurant. They were married on May 31, 1969. After their marriage they would move to Waseca, MN and Delores worked for many years at E.F. Johnson. Later she joined her husband in his semi and drove over the road for several years until Glenn passed in 1993. In 2005 she moved back to Faribault and lived at Golden Meadows Apartments. Delores loved to travel and she especially enjoyed going on cruises with her family. She was an active member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary since 1974, the American Legion Auxiliary since 2004 and the Red Hats Society.

She is survived by her three children, Loretta (Richard) Springer of Faribault, MN, LaVern (Wanda) Duffney of Champlin, MN and Julie Duffney-Begalke (Bob) of Holcombe, WI; by six grandchildren, Billy Springer, Danny Springer, Ryan Duffney, Nikki Duffney, Brandie (Troy) Anderson and Casey Schueneman; by nine great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Kiel and Karter Sletten, Jaden, Seth and Chandler Anderson, Bradyn Ayers-Schueneman and Caleb and Evelyn Bluhm; by three great great grandchildren, Ruxin Anderson, Augist Besser and Ascher Besser due in March; by her siblings, Phyllis (Les) Kaderlik and Phillip (Katie) Duffney, both of Faribault, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Chad Grimes and four siblings, Harold and Donald Duffney, Evangeline Karow and Beverly Weigle.
