Delores Frechette-Applen, age 90, of Elysian passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at her home in Elysian.
Delores Marie, daughter of Frank and Mary (Springer) Studnicka was born on April 27, 1925 in Rice County, Minnesota. She attended Montgomery High School and graduated in 1942. On March 9, 1943, she was united in marriage to Roger Frechette in Faribault, MN. He passed away on August 13, 1968. Delores owned and operated Dee's Café in Waterville for a number of years. She later worked at Brown Printing before retiring in 1992. On April 24, 1992, she was united in marriage to Eugene Applen in Waseca. He later passed away in 1995. Delores' free time was spent gardening, canning, crocheting, dancing, playing cards, and cooking for and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Conrad) Benzick of Waterville; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Frechette of Janesville; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter, Lucy Miller; son, Wrey Frechette; and by grandsons, Wrey Frechette Jr. and Joseph Benzick.
Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville.
The family and friends of Delores extend an open invitation to a celebration of her life on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at the Lake Area Clubhouse in Elysian, MN. Delores touched many people during her 90 years, so we hope you can join us in an afternoon of fellowship and remembrance of our Mom, Granny, and Friend.
