Debra Newcombe

Debra J. “Debbie” Newcombe, age 66 of Faribault, MN passed away after extended battle with cancer on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at her home.

Debra Jean, the daughter of Donald and Bernadette (Caron) Meehl, was born on January 9, 1954 in Faribault.  She attended Faribault Senior High School and Northfield High School, graduating with the class of 1972.  On September 18, 1991 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Newcombe in Snowhomish, Washington.  Debbie worked for over 35 years at St. Lucas Care Center, now The Emeralds as the assistant Director of Activities.  She loved going above and beyond at her work to make the residents lives better especially during the holiday seasons.  She enjoyed gardening, all motorsports, watching football, country cruises, cooking, baking, karaoke, visiting with friends and family and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Newcombe of Faribault; by her children, Christopher Rodewald (Sarah Foss) of Lake Mills, IA and Nicole Rodewald (Aaron Sepin) of Faribault; by 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Dwyer-Rodewald, Cage Rodewald, Kira Rodewald, Joey Rodewald, Christian Rodewald, Nicholas Rodewald, Amanda Sepin, Garrett Sepin, Hannah Sepin and Hallie Sepin; by 9 great grandchildren; by her parents, Don and Bernie Meehl of Faribault; by her siblings, Brad (Cheryl) Meehl of Faribault, Bruce Meehl of Faribault, David (Shelley) Meehl of Warsaw, MN and Dean Meehl and Dorothy Jindra of Faribault and by other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with Fr. Brandon Theisen officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
