Dean G. Kitzman

Dean G. Kitzman, age 54 of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Maplewood Home in Faribault.

Dean Gerald, the son of Gerald and Shirley (Wilson) Kitzman was born on December 17, 1969 in Faribault.  He attended Faribault Senior High School with the class of 1989.  Dean worked at different businesses in Faribault including, Truckers Inn as a dishwasher, Maytag Laundry as a cleaner and most recently he worked for several years as a dishwasher at the Signature Bar & Grill.  Dean also volunteered at the Friendship House in Faribault and in 2011 won the Patsy Lace Volunteer of the year award.  He would help deliver home meals, worked with therapy dogs and also held various officer positions on the Friendship House board.  He loved helping others and volunteering made him feel good.  He loved listening to music and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and dirt bike.  Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and he would really light up when he could be with his nieces and great nieces.  He was always eager to see them as they were very special to him. 

He is survived by his siblings Daniel Kitzman, David Kitzman (Kelly Larson) and Kim (Harry Jr.) Gruber, all of Faribault; by his nieces, Alicia Kitzman and Samantha Westerhouse (Matt Paez); by his great nieces, Trinity Kitzman, Madison VanThomme and Macie VanThomme; and was very proud of his only nephew, Declan Gruber and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.  Interment will be held at a later date at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.
