David A. Hirdler Sr., age 78, of Faribault, MN, passed away April 23, 2025, at the Emeralds of Faribault following an extended illness.
David Anthony, the son of Henry and Ida (Novotny) Hirdler, was born on March 19, 1947, in Northfield, MN. He attended Northfield High School. David was a construction worker, then worked at the Jenni-O Turkey Store, Viracon, and with Delta Truck Body building truck bodies until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, turtling, playing euchre, and spending time with his grandkids. He was married to Kari Olson, and they were later divorced.
He is survived by his children, David Hirdler Jr. (Tony), and Katherine Hirdler; their mother, Kari Olson; grandchildren, Jazmine and Jaxon; stepdaughter Michelle Olson; stepdaughter-in-law, Tamitha Olson; step grandchildren, Riley, Jahmar, Breanna, Destiny, Clinton, and Savannah; siblings, Mary Jane Wroblewski, and Dale Hirdler (Jayne Kukacka); nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ida; brothers, Maynard Hirdler, Francis “Frankie” Hirdler, and Stanley Hirdler; brother-in-law, Leon Wroblewski; aunt, Marion Pudil; and stepson, Jeffery Olson.
A time of sharing will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, followed by burial at Christdala Cemetery in Millersburg, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
