David W. Heyer, age 75 of Faribault, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with the Rev. Richard L. Jorgensen, officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Lutheran Ministries or to the. U.S. Olympic Committee in memory of Dave.
David Wilfred, the son of Otto and Elsa (Lieder) Heyer, was born on December 26, 1939 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1958. During his senior year he was elected class president and was a captain of the football team. In 1967 he was united in marriage to Diane "Cissy" Abney in Cannon Falls, MN. Dave worked for over 30 years as a cement finisher and laborer for various contractors in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area and locally for Brown Masonry and J&K Masonry. Dave was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and woodworking. He especially enjoyed being a fan of his grandchildren and watching their sporting activities.
Dave is survived by his wife, Diane "Cissy" Heyer of Faribault; by his children, Kipp (Barb) Heyer of Geneva, MN, Rigg (Sarah) Heyer of Chaska, MN, Kelly Cramer of Faribault, Trayce Hennum of Shoreview, MN and Cheri Marchio of Roseville, MN; by nine grandchildren; by two sisters, Harriet Berghoff and Karen Murphy, both of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Adeline Ballenthin, Dorothy Rodamaker, Eleanor Casey Johnson, Janet Ebert and a sister in infancy and by six brothers, Roger, Harland, Darrell, Marvin, Gerald and Bob Heyer.
