Darlene Dorothy was born on March 16, 1931 to Donald and Florence (Kratt) Remund in Morristown, Minnesota. She graduated in 1949 from Waseca Central High School. On October 8, 1949 she was united in marriage to Raymond "Bud" Ristau at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. After their marriage, Darlene and Bud lived and worked on the family farm in Iosco Township, Waseca County where they raised their family. She was a homemaker and farmwife until Bud's death in 1987. She was then employed by Waseca Schools as a baker and also worked at the Eagles Club in Waseca. On December 27, 1996 she was united in marriage to Curtis Walther at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville and then moved to Janesville. At that time, Darlene knew few people in Janesville and because Curt loved golfing, she decided that working at the Janesville Golf Course would keep her active and meet people in and around the community. She worked there until 2012. She loved working on Thursday's when the senior men golfed and enjoyed baking for them. They looked forward to the treats she would make for them and often she returned home with empty pans! She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and playing Bridge and Euchre. Darlene loved spending time with her family and delighted in her grandchildren and great-children. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville and a longtime member of the Waseca Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3753 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband Curtis of Janesville; daughter, Vicki (Dennis) Neidt of Waseca; son, Richard Ristau and special friend Tracey Fenske of Janesville; grandchildren, Michael (Heidi) Neidt of Mankato, and Julie Neidt of Waseca; great grandchildren, Zoey and Alexander Neidt of Mankato; brother, Keith (Lauri) Remund of Waseca; step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Raymond "Bud" Ristau.
