Darlene Majewski

Darlene M. Majewski, age 90, of Faribault, MN, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Mark Johnson, pastor, officiating. Private family interment will be at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in River Grove, IL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

Darlene Mae was born on June 22, 1927, in Fairmont, MN to Herman and Relda (Eickhoff) Behrens. She graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1944. Darlene received her nursing diploma from the Walter Memorial Lutheran Nursing School in Chicago. There she met her husband, Richard Majewski and they were married on April 21, 1951 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Chicago. Darlene worked as a Registered Nurse, mostly at Resurrection Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. In 2001, she and Richard moved to Faribault. Darlene enjoyed reading, crosswords and wordfinds, cooking and baking, sewing, writing, collecting poems, and quotations to live by and telling jokes. In her younger years she loved fishing, traveling, swimming, ballgames (all sports), and picnics. She was a member of the Deborah Circle and the Mission Projects group at First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Jim) Hynes, Marsha Majewksi, and Dave Majewski; grandchildren, Julie (Joe), Christine, Jimmy, Carolyn (Duane), and Matthew; great grandchild, Jayden; sister, Betty Behrends; sister-in-law, Dorothy Behrens; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on March 19, 2009; parents, Herman and Relda; siblings, Lloyd Behrens, Mabel Heller, Verne Behrens, Hazel Buchmeier, Bonnie Baago, Earle Behrens, and Dennis Behrens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to First English Lutheran Church or the Faribault Hospice Foundation.
