Darlene M. Bakko, age 85, of Faribault, died peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2012 at the Faribault Care Center following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, with the Deacon Bill Erpenbach, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Darlene Marie Bakko, the daughter of Martin and Gertrude (Truman) Bakko, was born on January 7, 1927 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated with the class of 1945. Darlene had a love for reading and writing which later allowed her to become a published author. She was a very dedicated catholic as religion was very important to her. Darlene also enjoyed listening to classical music. She is survived by her son, Bradley J. Bakko of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her parents and by her siblings, Audrey Pecore, Martin Bakko Jr. and Gertrude Olin.
