Daniel (Butch) David Freeman of Backus, MN passed in peace on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at The Emeralds at Faribault, MN after a long struggle with complications from chronic pancreatitis at the age of 68.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford, MN with Pastor Mark Biebighauser officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to services.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Born in Faribault, MN on November 8, 1950 and preceded in death by parents Daniel Sr. and Loretta Mae (Lambert) Freeman. Daniel was a brother to Kenneth Freeman and the late Jean Ann Bjorkman and late Richard Freeman. A loving father to Brandy Schoenbauer (Freeman) from his previous marriage to Judy Root and son-in-law Shawn Schoenbauer. A cherished and proud Grandfather to his grandchildren, Tanner and Harper Schoenbauer. A caring friend to longtime companion Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson of Backus, MN and her two adult sons Justin and Chris Johnson. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Daniel will be affectionately missed and remembered by family and friends as a loving father, an adoring grandfather, a kind-hearted friend, a U.S. Army Veteran, a pet lover, a master green thumb and gardener, fisherman, tractor painter, karaoke singer and wood-burning artist.
