Dallas Culhane

Dallas A. Culhane, age 74 of Faribault, MN passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 surrounded by her family at New Perspective Senior Living in Faribault after an extended journey with breast cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with a reception to follow.  Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Dallas Ann O’Connor, the daughter of Lawrence and Marcella (Bertram) O’Connor was born on September 26, 1945 in Faribault.  She attended Faribault Senior High School and Ritter Cosmetology School.  Dallas then worked as a secretary at the Faribault Recreation Department and as a teacher’s aide at McKinley Elementary School.  After managing the Faribault Hotel, she became the owner of the Dallas Saloon for many years.  Dallas later moved to California and worked in hospitality management.  For the last 15 years of her career she worked in property management, then with Pinnacle Properties until her retirement.

Dallas enjoyed gardening, garage sales, decorating, entertaining, and traveling.  She was an adventurous person who enjoyed celebrating life.  She was also a creative person, who loved giving gifts, shopping online (QVC), and was fond of dogs.  She had a strong faith and enjoyed her daily devotionals.  Most of all, Dallas had a great love for her family and friends, enjoyed family gatherings, and special moments with her grandchildren, the light of her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Deb (Kevin) Hawley of Faribault and their son Connor, Kari Culhane Gregor of New Prague, and Jamie Culhane (friend Michael) and her children, Asha and Ajay of California; her sister, Janice (Herb) Thielbar of Faribault; niece, Kimberly (Nick) Pezzente of Florida, nephew, Todd (Yingzhu) Thielbar of California; great nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Jamie), Andrew, and Matthew, and Erik, Mia, Will, and Dutch; great great niece, Eden Grace; aunt, Mary Alice O’Connor; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Marcella O’Connor (Feneis); daughter, Brenda; and brother, Robert (Bobby) O’Connor.

The family extends their gratitude to Koda Living Community, Faribault Senior Living, Brighton Hospice of Northfield, and the care team at New Perspectives in Faribault.
