Connie Spicer

Connie M. Spicer, age 83, of Faribault, MN, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.

Constance Mary was born on August 1, 1937 in Faribault to Theodore and Eleanore (Carpenter) Savoie.  She was married to Dennis L. Spicer on October 27, 1953.  Connie was a homemaker for her family and worked part-time at several places including, Control Data, cooked for Sacred Heart School, Crest Bar, Lavender Inn, and C & S Vending.  After Dennis passed away in 1981, she worked full-time at the Faribault Regional Center and Minnesota School for the Deaf until her retirement.

Connie and Dennis played many rounds of golf together and enjoyed 25 years of fishing at Bowstring Lake.  Connie loved to cook Thanksgiving meals for her family and invite her entire family out later for pie and euchre games.  Family was very important to Connie.  She relished the role as matriarch to her large family, caring for her children, grandchildren, and siblings.  She was a pillar to all, and everyone knew they could go to Connie whenever they needed to talk.  Her presence always made others feel welcomed and loved.

She is survived by two sons, Ron (Chris) Spicer and Rick (Tracey) Spicer; five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Gordon (Judy) Savoie, Kathie (Mike) Johnson, Rose (Dave) Moravec, Ted Savoie Jr., Linda (Mark) Vigesaa, Shirley (Brian) Trotter, and Diane (Mike) Benjamin; sisters-in-law, Carol Savoie and Sue Savoie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; son, Randy Spicer; parents, Theodore and Eleanore; brothers, Gerald, Roland, Stanley, Daniel, and Roger Savoie; sister, Dee Dee Klaras (& Mike); sister-in-law, Vickie Savoie; and nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Rev. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services, all at Parker Kohl Funeral Home.
