Clay T. Pecore, age 64 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with the Rev. Gordon Orde, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Organization.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
Clay Thomas, the son of Clayton and Audrey (Bakko) Pecore was born on June 13, 1952 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1970. Following high school Clay served in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge he attended Mankato State University and then enrolled in the BCA Police Officer Training program. On May 1, 1976 he was united in marriage to Patricia Morfitt in Faribault, MN. Clay worked for 20 years as a Police Officer for the Minneapolis Police Department retiring in 2006 as a Sergeant. In retirement Clay worked as a buildings and grounds caretaker at Nerstrand State Park. Clay enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and bike riding. He was a member of the NRA and the MPPOA.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Pecore of Faribault, MN; by two sons, Adam (Rose) Pecore of Cloquet, MN and Jason Pecore of Faribault, MN; by three grandchildren, Jadynn, Adalynn and Ethan Pecore; by his brother, Loren (Mary) Pecore of Northfield, MN; by three sisters, Suzanne (Jerry) Luiken of Faribault, MN, Luana Pecore of Faribault, MN and Julie Pecore of Sequim, WA and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
