Clarene M. Van Erp, age 84 of Faribault, MN passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault with Fr. Kevin Kenney officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to Bethlehem Academy High School in memory of Clarene.
Clarene Marie, the daughter of Thomas and Adele (Langevin) O’Neil, was born on December 16, 1934 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School. On September 29, 1951 she was united in marriage to Raymond M. Van Erp at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Clarene stayed at home to raise their growing family and assisted Ray on the farm with keeping paperwork in order. Clarene loved working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed big family gatherings, cooking, her cats, feeding the birds, attending her grandchildren’s activities and singing in the Paradisum funeral choir at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Clarene also volunteered for many years with 4-H and would help during the Rice County Fair for many years.
She is survived by her seven children, Roxanne Miller of Owatonna, MN, Ron (Lola) Van Erp of Faribault, Art (Nancy) Van Erp of West Concord, MN, Carol (Bill) Schultz of Faribault, Renee (Ron) Hornberg of Winona, MN, Chris Van Erp of Faribault and Amy (Michael) Thofson of Vernon Center, MN; by 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin daughters, Mary and Marion Van Erp and by her son-in-law, Alden Miller.
