Christopher Rodewald

Christopher M. Rodewald, age 50, of Faribault passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home following an extended illness

Christopher Michael, the son of Edward and Debra (Meehl) Rodewald was born on April 7, 1972 in Faribault.  He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1990.  Following high school Chris began working for Met-Con Construction and later with ABC Bus Company.  Chris’s passion was cooking and he became a sous chef and worked in different restaurants in different cities including Grand Marais, Anchorage, Alaska and Faribault until he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and needed to stop working.  Chris loved spending time with his family and especially playing with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed camping, listening to music, canoeing, biking and was a passionate Vikings fan.

He is survived by his father, Bob Newcombe of Faribault, MN; by his children, Lindsey Dwyer-Rodewald, Cage Rodewald, Kira Rodewald, Jolyt Rodewald, all of Faribault, MN and Christian Rodewald and Nicholas Rodewald, both of Lake Mills, IA; by six grandchildren; by his sisters, Nicole Rodewald (Aaron Sepin) and Dani Rodewald, both of Faribault, MN; by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Bernadette Meehl of Faribault, MN; by his birth father, Edward Rodewald of Grand Marais, MN; by three nieces, Amanda, Hannah and Hallie; by two nephews, Garrett and Carter; and by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Newcombe.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with Sr. Kathleen Hayes, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating.  Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
