Cheryl Therese Mogren, the daughter of Richard and LaVonne (Cloutier) Mogren, was born on November 23, 1967 in Faribault. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1986. Cheryl had a passionate love of her faith, and the fire with which she lived it. She met and married the love of her life, Steve, and together they joyfully welcomed 9 children into the world. Cheryl's pride was in her family and husband; she homeschooled her kids, and instilled in them the same love and zeal she had for the faith. She was forever going to her kid's baseball games, music concerts, Christmas programs, and college events to show her love and support. After 25 years of marriage, she still got excited about going on a date with her husband.
Cheryl had a zest for life that resulted from her thankfulness for God's gifts. She loved riding her horse "Flame", gardening, Facebooking, and rollercoasters at Valley Fair. Food was, in her opinion, "material proof of God's love for us." She loved gardening, listening to talk radio, and studying her faith through continuous reading. She had an amazingly quirky sense of humor for those who know her well and a radiant smile for anyone and everyone.
A typical morning found her up before dawn, surrounded by her bible, rosary, and prayer books. She had a huge devotion to Our Blessed Mother, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Miguel Pro, and Blessed John Paul II. She had a special love for priests, and perpetually prayed for them.
Cheryl loved her "support group", her spiritual family. From them, she drew strength and comfort, and grew in her spirituality.
To say she will be greatly missed by many is inadequate, but will have to suffice. We hold onto the hope that through her intercession she will help lead us to heaven also, to reunite with her in singing God's praises. There, we will never be parted again.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve; children, Nicole (Bill) McCoy, Alissa, Gabrielle, Kyle, Shane, Christian, Peter and Thérèse; grandson, Clarence Patrick McCoy; mother, LaVonne Mogren; brothers, Gary Mogren and Paul (Natalie) Mogren; sisters, Susan (Greg) Dapper, Laurie Mogren, and Beth (James) Curren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; sisters, Rita Mogren and Julie Carroll; and son, Andrew Louis McDonough.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a fund established at the State Bank of Faribault designated to assist Cheryl's children's educational needs.
