Charlotte "Char" Becker

Charlotte “Char” Becker, age 84, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, surrounded by her family at Mill City Senior Living.

Charlotte Marie was born on May 23, 1939, in Webster, MN, to Clarence Sr. and Albina (Nerud) Trenda.  She was raised in Northfield, MN, and graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1957.  She was united in marriage to Irvin Becker on June 6, 1959, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Northfield.  Char worked as a bookkeeper for Bauernfeind & Goedtel for 20 years, then as a teller for 1^st United Bank and State Bank of Faribault.  During her career she also was bookkeeper for both of Irvin’s businesses, Becker Masonry and I & R Construction.  Char was active at Divine Mercy Church, with the CCW and as a money counter.  She also was active with Rice County Home Extension and 4-H, serving as a 4-H leader.  Char enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, traveling, going up north with the lady friends, and bus trips with Irvin.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Irvin Becker; daughters, Diane Daily (Rod), Sharon Becker (Rick Rugroden), and Linda Becker (Don Eustice); eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Ramona Reichert and Sandi Johnson (Terry); brother, Clarence Trenda Jr. (Candice); in-laws, Imogene Caron (Hilary), Elaine Glynn, Rosie Becker, and Norman Becker; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Sr. and Albina; sister, Joan Trenda; brothers-in-law, Joe Reichert, Kenny Becker, and Dennis J. Glynn; and sister-in-law, Lois Becker.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mill City and Brighton Hospice for the exceptional care they provided for Char.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139, Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Allina Cancer Center, Faribault, in memory of Char.
