Charles W. Kuether Sr., age 71 of Faribault, MN died on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault with Pastor Doug Jones, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Charles William, the son of Fred Sr. and Lydia (Fritsche) Kuether, was born on October 12, 1946 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1964. He was united in marriage to Linda Breyer and they had five children. They later divorced. He married Debra Kotek and they spent many years together and then divorced. Charles was the co-owner of the Gray Shingle Tavern for many years and also operated a wood recycling business, Kuether's Farmer's Market, and took apart and moved many buildings. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and raising his animals on his hobby farms.
He is survived by his five children, Lori (Gary) Crouse of Lonsdale, MN, Tina Asplund (Tom Schrader) of Waterville, MN, Charles Kuether Jr. of Faribault, Rebecca (Nate) Pettman of Chippewa Falls, WI and Jessica Martinson of Warsaw, MN; by 11 grandchildren, one great grandson and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Audreen Caron and two brothers, Fred Jr. and Michael Kuether.
