Charles Kirkpatrick

Charles R. Kirkpatrick, age 78 of Waldorf, died suddenly on Monday, April 27, 2009 at his home in Waldorf.   Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville. Private family services and burial are scheduled.   Charles Richard was born on November 5, 1930 in Keokuk, Iowa to Phillip and Lora (Dickerson) Kirkpatrick. He graduated from Hamilton High School in Hancock County, Illinois. Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, he returned home and was united in marriage to Lorraine Habeck. Charles was a truck driver for over 40 years with Doran Trucking in Illinois and Traynor Trucking of Waldorf. After his trucking career he worked at Winegar Bros. Inc. in Waseca. His wife Lorraine passed away in 1987. Charles married Loretta E. Beckman on November 24, 1989 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waldorf. He was a lifetime member of the Waseca VFW Sweet-Sommers Post #1642 and the Janesville American Legion Post #281.   Charles is survived by his wife Loretta of Waldorf; by his four sons, David (Maria) Kirkpatrick of Spring Hill, FL, Jim (Peggy) Kirkpatrick of Sapula, OK, Warren Kirkpatrick and Richard Kirkpatrick both of Newark, DE; by his daughter Kathy (Ralph) Doty of  Dover, DE; by his step-children Joette (John) Kroeger of Mounds View, Michelle Johnson and Andy Hager of Waldorf, Tim Stencel of Little Fork, Terry (Kathy) Stencel of Austin, Mary Jo Stencel and Jeff Emmons of Waterville; by his sisters Donna Church of Elk River, Ardith Johnson of Galesburg, IL, Phyllis (Dale) Decker of Peoria, IL; by his sister-in-law Deloris Kirkpatrick of Dana Point, CA; by four grandchildren, ten step grandchildren and one step great grandson.   He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife Lorraine; by his brother Robert Kirkpatrick; by his brothers-in-law Frank Johnson and James Church.
