Charles Hausen

Charles Lloyd Hausen, 88, of La Mirada, California, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 in La Mirada.

Charles was born to Frank and Lillian (Rae) Hausen of Faribault, Minnesota on July 31, 1931. After moving to Oakland, CA at age 12, Charles attended school in Alameda and graduated Alameda High School in 1951. He married Elizabeth Maurine Izard on October 18, 1952 in Alameda. They were married for 60 years at the time of Maurine’s passing. Charles worked as a machinist and machine shop supervisor for Bethlehem Steel for 20+ years in northern and southern California and retired his career with Martin Marietta as a supervisor in the special metals shop.  He is survived by eight children, Charles Allen Hausen, Lawrence (Lynn) Hausen, Leon David Hausen, Teresa (Dick) Friend, Mary (Paris) James, William (Jeanette) Hausen, Jean (Jim) Giles and Paul (Shelly) Hausen. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Charles was a gifted athlete, excelling in high school baseball, played semi-pro baseball, and enjoyed tennis, golf and fishing.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
