Charles "Jaime" Cornwall, age 77, of Faribault, died suddenly at his home Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Steven J. Kuehne, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Charles Harrison Cornwall, the son of Maurice and Cora (Brown) Cornwall, was born on June 29, 1932 in Sycamore, IL. Jaime served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He moved to Minnesota in 1976 and was united in marriage to Ruth Cole on June 18, 1977 in Morristown, MN. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2009. Jaime was employed by the Minnesota State Hospital for several years before working at Crown Cork and Seal until his retirement in 1998. After his retirement he immediately applied and went to work part-time at Cabela's, his dream job, for many years. First and foremost, Jaime loved to fish. He also loved to play cards, especially poker and euchre, and enjoyed reading. He loved the outdoors, wildlife and animals, and caring for his cats. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562 and Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Thompson of Florida; step-daughters, Penny (Jim) Gute, Jeanine (Bruce) Campbell, and Heidi Cole, all of Faribault; several grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in by his parents; son, Jaime Cornwall; and his wife of 32 years, Ruth Cornwall.
